“Wish Ko Lang” Grants Wishes of Filipinos in Korea

1Last Saturday, “Wish Ko Lang”, a popular television program in the Philippines that features inspiring stories of ordinary Filipinos and grants their wishes, played fairy godmother in South Korea. The show granted the wish of a dedicated Filipina teacher from Bulacan to come to Korea and explore the country. Teacher Grace, as her students call her, got to try traditional Korean archery, enjoy the slides at Water Park, experience winter at Snow Park, have fun at Everland and shop at Seoul’s shopping capital, Myeongdong. She also visited the set of her favorite Korean drama, “My Love from the Stars”, and Petite France (쁘띠프랑스), a famous filming location of K-dramas. Teacher Grace surely had a blast, but most of all, she was reunited with her former Korean students who have never forgotten her.

The simple Christmas wishes of some Pinoy OFW’s were also granted. I am glad that “Wish Ko Lang” had this segment. Christmas is not a big occasion in South Korea, so I understand why most Filipinos in Korea feel nostalgic when the holiday season is coming.

Watch out for the second part of this episode next Saturday.
