One of the things to love about Korea is Koreans’ love for coffee and aesthetics. I love exploring Seoul and discovering new cafés. It’s a form of relaxation for me; however, popular coffee shops in Seoul usually get crowded on weekends.
Thanks to a friend who took us around Seongsu-dong, I now have a new favorite hangout in Seoul. At night, some of the most popular cafés are packed, but NOT AS CRAMPED as other famous cafés in other areas of the city.
Seongsu-dong used to be an industrial town where shoes were made. Today, it’s one of South Korea’s hippest places teeming with great coffeeshops and restaurants. It has also become a hub for emerging artists, so it’s common to see instagrammable graffitis and artwork displayed in cafés.
You can also find a couple of handmade shoe stores and shops that sell clothes and accessories.
Seongsu-dong is not only for coffee aficionados. One of its main attractions is Seoul Forest.
There are tons of activities to do at Seoul Forest alone, or you can simply enjoy biking around the Han River via Seongsu bridge.
